Student Achievement at Geneva
The achievement of our students is a testament to the focused attention of our excellent faculty, as well as the consistent prayer of our parents! Geneva students have shown their talents by excelling at regional and national spelling bees, national Latin exams (several have had perfect scores!) and with consistent standardized test scores that well exceed national norms for public schools, and are on par with the top private schools in the country.
Where Are Our Graduates?
Geneva students continue on to the finest schools in NYC and beyond. Our graduates have gone on to Poly Prep, Spence, Browning, Fordham Prep, LaGuardia, Stonybrook, Hunter, as well as top specialty schools of their choosing, such as Professional Performing Arts High School, Aviation High School, and many more.

The Modern Renaissance of Classical Education
At Geneva, our classical Christian education is unique in that is seeks to restore the most proven form of education ever developed and make it relevant for today. Classical Christian education has produced the greatest thinkers, leaders, and scientists in the Western world from the time of the Greeks until the late 19th century, including America’s founding fathers. The Geneva School of Manhattan integrates subjects like literature, history, language, art, math, science, and music. Students read the great works of Western literature and philosophy. Classical language (Latin) helps students understand and think with greater depth about the world around them. Formal logic and rhetoric help students become great leaders and communicators. Independent learning skills are sharpened at all grade levels.
The Geneva Curriclum
Geneva students all benefit from the foundational principles of the Trivium curriculum model throughout their educational experience. The Trivium is expressed through three phases of a child’s learning development and behavior; grammar, logic, and rhetoric.

Our grammar phase begins in preschool and continues throughout our lower (elementary) school with an emphasis on attaining facts, since children at this phase are very adept at memorizing. They enjoy repeating songs, rhymes, and chants to the extent that they often make up their own. Our “Grammar” phase corresponds with this tendency by focusing on the teaching of factual knowledge. Their delight and joy in learning are evidenced in the way they sing and clap out history timelines, science facts, Latin and French vocabulary, Bible verses and rules of grammar. As they progress through this phase, they begin to learn ways to apply the facts they have attained in the “Logic” phase. During the Logic phase, students begin to challenge and reason the information they are given. They engage in critical thinking and learn how to argue well based on the facts they have learned. As students continue to grow and become more concerned with the external over the internal we begin to incorporate aspects of the “Rhetoric” phase. In this phase, our students are taught the art of speaking, communicating, and writing to convey their thoughts so that they are well received and understood by others.

The Geneva School is a community of people dedicated to meeting the needs of all students. Every classroom is centered on the truth of God’s word. Within the established structure and routine of our enriching environment, children have the freedom to grow and reach the high standards set before them with excitement and joy. Our students demonstrate a true love for learning as they embrace the challenges of reaching the heights of all our education offers to them.
