One of the defining attributes of Geneva School is the vibrant Christian community we enjoy, which is made up of our students and faculty, parents, staff, alumni and friends. There are many ways in which our community enjoys time together. Some examples include:
First Wednesdays - Each "first Wednesday" of the month, our Parent Council organizes fun activities for students and their families (ice skating, bowling, trips to Central Park, etc.) in lieu of afternoon classes.
Headmaster Meet & Greet Evenings - Parents in each grade level gather together with our Headmaster to get to know each other and discuss class-specific points of interest.
Talent Show - Our annual event in which students share their stuff to the soundtrack of parent and alumni laughter and applause...definitely a "do not miss" event!
Corporate Prayer Nights - We are first and foremost a community of prayer, and are intentional about gathering regularly to pray for our students, our families, our school, as well as our city and global concerns.
Parent Involvement
The Geneva School of Manhattan places great value on parent and family involvement in school life. We consider ourselves partners with parents in the raising of their children. Parent Talent Committees provide a venue for parents to participate in ways that enhance our students' school experience. Each year, parents volunteer for a Parent Talent Committee, a group of parents working toward a common goal. Parent Talent Committees are led by members of the Parent Council. Examples of Parent Talent Committees are Faculty and Staff Appreciation, Student Events, Prayer, and Chaperoning of various field trips and special events.
