Do I Need to Take the ERB Test?
We require all new students from Kindergarten through 8th grade to engage in standardized testing. The results are an important factor in our admissions process, but they may also used as a baseline measurement by our teachers in applying curriculum to individual students throughout the year, as well as in building a history of progress for each student over time.

Important Dates For Admission

Important dates are highlighted below, along with a suggested timeline for your participation in the admissions process. Geneva School follows the ISAAGNY guidelines for notification, and we have a rolling admissions policy after notification as seats are available. There are no application deadlines per se, however it is strongly suggested that the timelines below be followed to maximize your chance for available seating.

Admission Timeline

The following timeline is suggested by our admissions committee to help maximize your chance for enrollment given our small class sizes and limited availability.

September

  • Request an application
  • Contact the Educational Records Bureau at (212) 672-9800 to schedule testing for your child. The ERB is required for Kindergarten through Grade Five while the ISEE is required for Grade Six through Grade 8.

October-January

  • Return your application, including your non-refundable $75 application fee.
  • Schedule a tour or open house visit, or begin scheduling your family interview, student assessment and class visit at Geneva School. You will be contacted upon receipt of your completed application to schedule a time. Pre-School assessments generally occur on Wednesdays between 9am and 2pm at our East Side location. Elementary and Middle School assessments generally occur during the scheduled classroom visit and family interview.
