The Geneva School of Manhattan is a classical and Christian School. We provide an academically challenging educational program that is both classical in its methodology and scripturally-based in its principles and values. We believe that parents have a biblically-mandated responsibility to educate their children. Therefore, we are committed to assisting Christian families who elect to live and raise children in New York City by providing a Christ-centered school. In this way, we also participate in the moral and spiritual regeneration of the city.
We believe that the sixty-six books of Holy Scripture as originally given are, in their entirety, the Word of God, verbally inspired and wholly without error in all that they declare and, therefore, are the supreme and final authority of faith and life. II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21.
We believe in one triune God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The whole universe was created by God from nothing and He is sovereign and rules over all creation. Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14.
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. John 1:1, Matthew 1:20-23.\We believe that mankind was originally created in the image of God and that he fell into sin through the first Adam. All mankind after Adam is born into this sinful nature. Sin causes him to be separated from God and lost eternally. Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23, 5:12
We believe that salvation from everlasting punishment and entrance into a state of fellowship with God is secured only by grace through a personal belief that Christ bore our sins in His own body on the cross, and by a definite union with Christ. Christ’s perfect obedience is transferred to believers so that they are fully justified and righteous before God, and adopted into His eternal family. John 3:3; John 1:12; John 3:16.
We believe that the Holy Spirit applies the atoning work of Christ to all who believe and therefore dwells within all who are united to Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord. John 15:26; John 16:13-15.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, which insures the resurrection of all believers. John 1:1; I Corinthians 15:3-4; I Corinthians 15:51-54.
We believe that all Christians are enabled by the indwelling Spirit and called to grow in Christ-likeness. The means that God uses to grow His children are: Intimacy with God through the study of His Word, worship, intimacy with other Christians through fellowship, and intimacy with the world
