FAQ

Where do Geneva School students go to high school?

Geneva School students continue on to the finest schools in New York City and beyond. Our graduates perform exceptionally well at the New York City high school placement process; in fact, many city schools have begun seeking out our graduates. For more information about Geneva School alumni, see our Alumni page.

How diverse is the School?

While we do not intentionally select, recruit, or otherwise aim for a diverse population, we are able to achieve great diversity in our student body as a result of the ethnic diversity of the city, the financial aid we provide, and the large geographic range of our reach. The wide-ranging diversity of our School, socioeconomic and ethnic, creates a unique and uplifting learning environment.

Does Geneva School accept only Christian families?

While there is no restriction on applicants, it should be noted that our School exists because of Jesus Christ and for the glory of God. Our families must agree in writing and adhere to our Statement of Faith as part of the application process, since a lack of sincere support for the Christ-centered worldview taught at Geneva School would be both confusing and detrimental to the student.

What is the cost of an education at Geneva School?

We are committed to making the education at Geneva School as affordable as possible for our students. With our graduated tuition schedule and tuition rates nearly half of comparative independent schools in New York, the value of an education at Geneva School is hard to match. Our excellent faculty, vibrant community, and access to the city's top cultural landmarks make Geneva School a truly unique learning environment. We offer need-based financial aid to the extent our budget allows, in order to make our School accessible to as many as possible.

Do I need to apply prior to scheduling a tour?

Feel free to contact our admissions office at admissions@genevaschool.net or (212) 980-4099 for a tour. Once an application has been submitted, we are happy to schedule a personal tour of the school at a mutually convenient time. However, prior to applying, parents are welcome to attend open house events.

At what age can my child begin Geneva School?

Our Preschool offers a Beginner’s program for children 2 ½ to 4 years of age. Pre-Kindergarten children must be 4 years old by September 1. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1. All students applying will be assessed to determine placement and readiness to succeed at Geneva School.

How and when do I apply?

Applications are mailed in September for the following school year, and can be requested from our site using the inquiry form. See our admissions timeline for assistance as to when to apply, but in general, the earlier the better. We have a recommended application deadline of December 1.

How much financial aid can I receive?

The amount of financial aid varies as individual needs vary. Our financial aid committee looks at each family's ability to pay and makes a determination of an award based on many factors.

What kind of after school programs do you offer?

Geneva School offers a broad selection of after-school activities, including athletics, chess, ballet, art, Mohr’s Explorer’s and more.

Does Geneva School offer programs for students with special needs?

Geneva School does not currently have the resources or programs to assist children with special needs. If the need is mild, however, it may be possible for the child to succeed at our School. Contact the Director of Admissions to discuss your child’s particular need.
