About Mr. Holler |
|
I am pretty much an anomaly. My wife says that I am a freak. A more accurate description may be the Chieftains song “Jack of All Trades.” I am from Red Bluff, California, and below you will find pictures of 2 volcanoes that are within 1-2 hours from Red Bluff. One summer I climbed to the top of Mt. Lassen. I began training horses when I was 12, and started colts professionally for Reigning Horse competitions after I returned from Texas in 1994 for a world champion trainer. The year I spent in Texas I attended welding school thinking that I would become a welder, during which time I worked as a carpenter just outside the Dallas Cowboys training camp. I also spent my time competing in amateur rodeo. Bull riding was my first event, until I fractured my skull in the 9th grade. After that I competed in Saddle Bronc for the next 7—8 years. At the end of that time I met my future wife and began attending Shasta Bible College in Redding, CA and proceeded to seminary where I studied Old Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA. After my family and I returned from Massachusetts I became the church Youth Director for the next 3 years, 2 of which I also spent my time as a middle school teacher. As far as my interests, here are a few of my tops: · Literature: Dracula, Experiment in Criticism, Walking Drum · Music: Chieftains, System of a Down, Mozart · Film: Braveheart, Man from Snowy River, Babette’s Feast · Travel: Bad Lands, Redwoods National Forest, Boston |
