A Day in Our Pre-School
When you walk through the Geneva School of Manhattan Pre-School doors you will be received by a loving team of qualified, nurturing teachers committed to your child’s emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social well being. Our small classes and collaborative team-teaching approach fosters greater insight into each child’s specific strengths and needs. Our developmental based program is designed by ongoing assessments which drive our planning for individualized instruction. We provide a perfect balance of play with our early academic program evidenced in our various hands-on learning centers. Children can be found fishing for words, manipulating and counting objects, building structures, exploring and discovering matter, creating projects, listening to stories, engaging in dramatic play, and singing and dancing. Our French language program is introduced in Pre-School and continues through our Elementary School to Grade Five.
The children participate daily in morning meeting, devotions, and prayer to help center their heart as they begin each day together. The importance of community is exemplified through the active participation of parents in our daily school life. Our Pre-School experience inspires children to love learning while receiving the highest standard of Pre-School education.
The Beginner and Pre-Kindergarten classes take advantage of New York City through a wide variety of explorations. This year's field trips include outings to the Bronx Botanical Gardens, Radio City Music Hall, the New York Hall of Science, Carnegie Hall, the French Institute, and more. Through such a rich curriculum, the children are well-prepared for the academic challenges of Kindergarten.
