School Requirements
Following are admissions requirements for Preschool, Lower School, and Upper School applicants.
Preschool Requirements
Pre-Beginners (2.6 years old by August 31)
Beginners (3 years old by August 31)
Pre-Kindergarten (4 years old by August 31)
- Online Application and fee
- Letter of recommendation. This personal reference is meant to help us understand your willingness and ability to be a committed participant in your child's education in the context of an active Geneva School community. The recommendation may come from a pastor, friend, colleague, or other individual who knows your family well and can help us get to know your family better at this stage in the application process.
Lower School Requirements
Kindergarten (5 years old by August 31)
First Grade through Third Grade (age appropriate)
- Online Application and fee
- Personal letter of recommendation. See above.
- Testing with the Educational Records Bureau is required. Call 212.672.9800 to schedule an appointment. Request the results of the test be sent to The Geneva School of Manhattan.
- School transcript or two most recent report cards (Kindergarten applicants are exempt).
- Academic recommendation or assessment from a current teacher (Kindergarten applicants are exempt). Use our recommendation form to assist the teacher.
Upper School Requirements
Fourth Grade through Eighth Grade
- Online Application and fee
- Personal letter of recommendation. See above.
- Testing with the Educational Records Bureau is required (ISEE test results). Call 212.672.9800 to schedule an appointment. Request the results of the test be sent to The Geneva School of Manhattan.
- School transcript or two most recent report cards.
- Academic recommendation or assessment from a current teacher. Use our recommendation form to assist the teacher.

Once these materials are received, and at the discretion of the admissions committee, you will be contacted to schedule a student assessment and classroom visit, as well as a family interview with our Head of School to complete the process.
