Emphasis on increased sophistication in all genres of writing, including persuasive writing, personal narrative, poetry, research report, and fantasy.

Latin

Cambridge Latin,  Unit 1.

Logic

Logic is the art of reasoning well. Using various resources, students are trained to think through logic puzzles and scenarios to make deductions.

Math

Saxon Algebra 1/2 with a transition to Singapore Math: Primary Math U.S. Edition Level 6A and 6B in Fall 2012.

Science

Prentice Hall Life Science is key text, emphasizing lab-based, hands-on, experiential learning.

History and Geography

Ancient history and geography from 3500 BC to 500 AD.

Bible

Focus is on Old Testament history and poetry.

Music

Continued training in voice and pitch development, musical theory, and study of symphony and opera genres.

Visual Arts

Compositions and drawings demonstrating varied elements of art and the principles of design; use of warm advancing and cool receding tones.

Physical Education

Focused training in skills, rules, and strategy of key sports (basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and badminton).
