ATHLETICS

Geneva Knights Sports

Physical Education is an integral part of classical education. Students strengthen physical, mental, and spiritual conditioning as they strive for excellence in competition. The discipline of team sports allows students to cultivate conduct in keeping with good sportsmanship—honesty, compassion, integrity, leadership, friendship, cooperation, respect, and hard work.

Geneva Knights Team Sports

Competitive team sports begin in Fifth Grade with basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, track, and volleyball. Geneva School fields over 20 competitive teams that perform at the top levels of the American International Private Schools League and Charter School Athletic Association.

I have learned that being challenged and cared for are not mutually exclusive. From the start, I immediately felt the challenge of a rich and complex curriculum and the familial atmosphere of care at work here at Geneva School. I witnessed this same balance on the basketball court, as my fellow teammates demonstrated both a fierce competitive spirit and noteworthy sportsmanship." —Noah Trautmann ('27)
Physical Education Program

Lower School

Physical education and movement are essential components of elementary education. Lower School students engage in formal physical education classes four days a week, where they develop motor skills, physical fitness, cognitive concepts such as traveling in different directions, awareness of rules and strategies in various sports, as well as social interactions. After-school sports offerings are available to students in Junior Kindergarten and older.

Upper School

Upper School students engage in formal physical education classes where they consider holistic elements of physical fitness and nutrition, in addition to the rigors of calisthenics and team sports. Competitive sports begin at the Fifth Grade level, with basketball, cross-country, soccer, track, and volleyball teams who compete with similar schools. Golf is offered beginning in high school.

Our students are uniquely prepared to
